Last week I did a consultation with a guy who makes the branding sounds behind big brands (dadadadada).
Mans profile was really amateur. I could feel like there was some rando upwork design PR team behind is profile - and it reflected in the results of his outreach attempts.
So when we got on the phone he asked “Steph, I‘m doing all this outreach how can I get clients?“
After we power-built his entire profile I told him he had to look beyond his perception and image and address what he was distracting himself from.
Because it‘s easy to believe you have a funnel or messaging or writing problem…
It’s not a visibility thing. That's an easy cop out.
I told him…what are the messaging, outreach DMs & the visibility tweaks actually distracting you from?
Entertain for a second: If those weren't the issue at all, why does it make perfect sense that the results aren't resulting no matter how hard you work? No matter how much outreach you do… and it‘s still crickets?
You have to deeply understand the link between your power blockages and how it‘s holding you back from your finish line. (I‘ll share mine with you so stick with this!!)
Money is the byproduct of knowing yourself deeply. It‘s like building a high-resolution (high-res) version of yourself. Knee-deep, knowing and trusting yourself to pursue/ seek.
The world is built by people who want to excude power over you - it starts early in your childhood (teachers and parents and extended family) and it catapults in managers and sometimes even romantic partners and people who do business with you.
If you cultivate a high-res model of yourself, you will be harder to manipulate.
When you pour into yourself the world wants to pour into YOU too. You trust your own skills / your talent / your ideas to come. You know you’re just one pebble away from hitting the next.
Knowing yourself doesn’t mean you can’t discover new things, it just allows you to go deeper.
Which is why you need to access and learn your REAL blockages that are not allowing you to win. Because the world around you just mirrors back your internal blockages.
So when people doubt your pricing, your work, your authority…it‘s because a part of you believes them.

I remember sitting on this call with a prospect who was pushing my boundaries by asking very personal questions just to see how far he’d get. He was an investor who got out of jail and was rebuilding his portfolio from ground up.
At some point he asked… “I’m going to sign up for this because AI is gonna steal your job and your work will die out.”
I felt this wave of disgust because I had just encountered someone who clearly wanted to see my reaction and devalued my work. Looking back… this guy probably enjoyed my reaction. But it taught me 2 lessons.
